Kurt Rambis named Minnesota Timberwolves head coach

“Kurt, with his experience playing and coaching for a winning organization and working under people like Pat Riley, will bring a lot to our organization,” Taylor told the Pioneer Press. “In meeting with him and talking to him, I know he’s very excited about having an opportunity to help build his own team.”

Sources told ESPN.com that the Wolves are planning a Tuesday news conference to introduce Rambis as the replacement to Kevin McHale.

The 51-year-old Rambis has a lot of  head coaching experience of the group. He has been a Lakers assistant for 10 years, was their head coach in the lockout shortened 1998-99 season and has filled in on several occasions for his Hall of Fame coach.

Rambis won four titles with the Lakers as a player and three more as an assistant. He comes to a franchise that has seen many more losses than wins, especially of late.

The Wolves have not made the playoffs since Kevin Garnett led them to the Western Conference finals in 2004. They have won just 46 games in the last two seasons and have changed coaches four times in the last five years.

Kurt handled business in Los Angeles, so I wish him luck in Minnesota.

An old clip of Shaq (on the Lakers) singing about Vlade Divac

Lamar Odom back on Lakers

A league source tells TNT’s David Aldridge that free agent forward Lamar Odom has agreed to return to the Lakers next season, accepting the team’s multi-year offer and spurning a five-year, $34 million offer from the Miami Heat. Welcome back Mr. Odom.

Kobe says, “You’re not dunking on me at my camp.”

Recently, at Kobe Bryant’s basketball camp, a 14 year old played Kobe Bryant in a 1 on 1 game of basketball.

After Kobe defeated the young fool, 5 to 0, the player heckled Kobe, watch the clip.

Basically, in the video the young player says that if Kobe went to Lebron’s camp, he would get “owned”.

Kobe retaliates by telling him, “you’re not dunking on me at my camp.”

KB24 VS LB23, who do you choose?

NBA: Top 5 Free Agents STILL Available

1. Lamar Odom (Biased choice because I bleed purple and gold)

Pros: Can basically play all 5 positions, Great ball handler, Speed, Rebounding, Can sometimes HEAT up.

Cons: Silly mistakes (I get dumbfounded by what he does on the court sometimes), Inconsistent, Soft, Lazy (SHOWED UP TO CAMP OUT OF SHAPE, COME ON LAMAR)

2. Carlos Boozer

Pros: Good Hands, Powerful, Can finish with both hands, Rebounding, 20/10 guy

Cons: CAN’T block shots (0.5 a game, horrid), Injury prone

3. Shawn Marion (should change his nickname to “Easily Forgettable”)

Pros: Versatile, Defensive specialist, Rebounding, CAN be a 20/10 guy in the RIGHT system

Cons: Disgusting shot, Inconsistent, What happened to your speed, Matrix?

4. Allen Iverson (should change his nickname to “Please remember me me for my 76ers days”)

Pros: Ball handler, Speed, Defensive prowess (steals, cat-like agility), Drives to the basket at will, Scores at will

Cons: Can destroy a team singlehandedly, but shame on the AI haters, hopefully he can reemerge as a top 5 point guard next year

5. Paul Millsap

Pros: Young, Powerful, CAN be a 20/10 guy with STARTER minutes, Rebounding, Shot-blocker

Cons: Can a team depend on him to be a LEGIT 20/10 power forward starter?
